My memory is not my strongest asset. I tend to forget things easily and if it weren’t for my excessive collection of photographs, I might not even be able to remember what I did in 2009. Looking back through photographs taken these past twelve months I find myself thinking about how quickly things change. In just one year, Brielle McClain Photography began making its mark on this little town’s photography scene. I doubled my senior clients from the previous year, began shooting family and couple sessions and shot my first wedding and (this still makes me jump for joy) was booked for my second. My photographic style has no doubt changed over the past year, some changes more noticeable than others. I think the digital age that we live in has forced photographers into a new era. And while it’s important to know exactly what is going on in your camera and its little screen, I learned that as a photographer, my philosophy is not focused on the technical aspects of photography but on the personal — the moments you can’t replace, the ones that should be captured. I decided to accept the quirks of my shooting style and by doing so I’ve formed an even better idea of what a “Brielle McClain image” looks like. So much has changed in just one year that it gives me faith that all of my career goals can and will be met one day. Of course, Brielle McClain Photography is here today thanks to you, my clients and McBlog readers. Thank you to all of you who continue to spread my name and images amongst family and friends. Thank you to those who come back time and time again to get your McBlog fix. And thank you to those who graciously pay me to do what I love. I can’t wait to see you all in 2010 and find out what the next twelve months have in store.
This was 2009 for me.
