welcome.

When I was ten years old, I liked to run around my Los Angeles neighborhood with a disposable camera on a wildlife photography expedition (i.e. taking pictures of cats). While I've strayed away from cat photography and disposable cameras, that adventure and excitement has never left. I'm ecstatic to say that my camera and I still go on expeditions of our own -- sometimes in my own backyard and sometimes far away.

Born and raised primarily in Los Angeles with a wonderful stint in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. I am currently pursuing a BFA in photography at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. Available for work in Southern California, Oregon and abroad.

{personal} – self-portrait friday #1?

This is one of my new year’s resolutions…and like most resolutions, it may not turn out so hot. But I’m giving it a shot.

I’ve always been intrigued by the art of the self-portrait. It’s so common amongst artists of any medium and that alone is powerful. I’m also drawn to self-portraits because you can take one whenever you want because you yourself are the subject. There is no session that needs to be figured out amongst busy schedules — the right time for a self portrait is anytime.

To be honest with you, this winter is starting to get to me and I’m feeling like I’m in a bit of a rut. I’m hoping turning the camera on myself once a week (ONCE A WEEK?! I hope I can handle this…) will give me the opportunity to explore my relationship with my camera a little bit more and force me to git more creative. I will also admit that I hope I get some decent profile pictures out of this for Facebook ; )

To clarify: the goal is to take one self-portrait a week and post it for you guys on Friday. If I do not hold up to this and you see me walking down the street, feel free to beat me. Gently.
