Lately I’ve been obsessed with film all over again. There is just an inexplicable excitement that comes with waiting to see a roll of film developed, a tangible magic to holding a print. These past few weeks film has been the perfect yin to my computer screen’s yang.
I couldn’t resist pulling out my Minolta X700...
You know you’re a photo nerd when you can spend hours getting lost in a new box of prints and negatives
and you own a toy underwater camera. Because…you know…Why shouldn’t you?
and you take a picture of yourself in a mirror…because you liked the wallpaper. I AM SUCH A PHOTO DORK.
This self portrait friday is bittersweet.
But let’s start with the bitter part…This week my computer decided to die. Or rather, just stare at me with a grey screen like it didn’t know better. I had to send it away for service and I may or may not have buried my sorrows in a Dutch Freeze...
My self portrait friday today was going to be epic. It required waking up at 3:30 am and it included the wonderful Nathan Worden. However, the files have failed me and while I investigate their rebellion against me, I leave you with this silly GIF that I like the consider my only magic trick.
